Altruize means “to exercise your altruism”  It is a platform to help people be more intentional about their volunteer and altruistic endeavors.

Having this information verified will give you the ability to prove your community involvement when applying for a job, scholarships, college/university, and even has the potential to help with legal issues should you have to prove any court-ordered community service took place.

You can email Altruize@Altruize.com for help.

Go to Dashboard - Opportunities tab at the top - Enter City and State - Put in one or more interests - Press Enter - Search Volunteer Opportunities. AI will find organizations near you with potential opportunities and their contact information.

Altruize is constantly updating their software to make it better for their users. Once we update the software, it logs out all of our users, so they see the most updated version when they open the app next.

Click the person icon My Account - Individual Report - Select your time frame - Run Report. 

Click Print on desktop to download it as a PDF.

Once you create an account, it is time to start tracking your volunteer hours.

First, you need to volunteer. So, let Altruize help you find opportunities! Follow “How do I find local volunteer opportunities,” question for help.

Then, once you volunteer, click + Add Activity - fill in the boxes and complete the process (look at how to verify question if needed). Continue to do this with every volunteer activity you do.

You can add old volunteer activities, too!

As much or as little as you want. Keep in mind this will show up on your individual report, and both the verifier and your linked organizations can see it. 

Altruize has a journal feature you can access after submitting the activity that only you can see if you want to write more about your experience. 

How to access journal section: Dashboard - click the dropdown that the activity would be in (organizations verified, draft, self-verified, pending, denied) and find the activity that you want to write about, and click journal.
